Kamiizumi, Yahiko-mura Nishikambara-gun, Niigata

Our brewery is located at the foothills of Mount Yahiko, a famous mountain in Echigo.

We were founded in 1838. In 1848, our founder devised a means of using natural water spring flows in the brewing process. Those that trained under him and mastered this technique then went on to become brewers at a range of sites around the country, so Yahiko developed a reputation as the "origin" house for training talented brewers.

We are committed to the production of fine spirits, no matter how difficult the challenge.

We pursue highly refined rice, handmade spirits, cold climate brewing, long-term, low-temperature fermentation, heating in the bottle, and other advanced techniques.

We are also the brewery of warrant providing SAKE to Iyahiko Shrine. We are one of the few breweries in Japan in which all of the brewers have Class 1 brewing licenses.
